Thursday 29th October
Dear All
Welcome to our weekly newsletter.
This Friday we are delighted to welcome the Cambridge Early Music Consort to West Wratting Church where they will sing at a special Compline service from 6pm. This will be about 40 minutes long and all are welcome.
This coming Sunday we look forward to our united service where we will celebrate All Saints Day. This will be followed by our All Souls Day services on Monday. Jess Finlay, who is on placement with us as an ordinand (training prior to ordained ministry), will preach her first sermon in our Granta Vale churches on All Saints Day and the Balsham Church will host this service service. The charity they have chosen to support is Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF UK) and you will find more details about this below.
As we approach our celebration of All Saints Day, then, we may reflect on how all those who follow Jesus are called to be 'saints' - people whose lives are enlivened by the Holy Spirit and set apart for service in God's Kingdom - and perhaps also give thanks for particular people in our own lives who have helped to encourage us in our Christian journey.
Revd Iain McColl and the Ministry Team
Sunday 1st November
All Saints Day
11.00am United Service with Holy Communion, Balsham
Service led by Revd Iain McColl with Jess Finlay to preach.
Balsham will be hosting this service, and their chosen charity for the collection is Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF UK): “Out of the ashes of World War II came a new movement, which sought to use aviation as a force for good instead of destruction. Inspired by their Christian faith, MAF’s founders decided to use their flying and engineering skills to deliver help, hope and healing to the world’s most isolated people. 80 years later, their legacy lives on…sharing God’s love with people who are difficult to reach”. More details can be found on the MAF UK website: www.maf-uk.org.
